Monday: This week's feature composer is Maurice Ravel. The feature composition is the third movement of Mother Goose Suite.Ravel originally composed this music on the piano for the children of his good friend. Later, he decided to arrange his music for the orchestra. Ravel loved to use the sounds of the instruments to create colorful music. This music tells the story of an Empress of a tiny kingdom--the Empress of insect-musicians!
Tuesday: This week's feature composer is Maurice Ravel. The feature composition is the third movement of Mother Goose Suite. Ravel composed this music for the children of his good friend. He wanted his music to tell stories that were familiar to the children in a colourful way. The main character in this story is the Empress of insect-musicians. Ravel used horns, bass clarinet, and the gong for the Empress. He chose flutes, oboes, bassoons, and glockenspiel for the insects.
Wednesday: This week's feature composer is Maurice Ravel. The feature composition is the third movement of Mother Goose Suite. Ravel composed this music so we could enjoy the story of the Empress of the insect musicians through the sounds of the instruments. He chose flutes, oboes, bassoons, and glockenspiel to portray the insects. For the Empress, Ravel decided to use the lower pitched horns and bass clarinet. He even added the majestic sound of the gong.

The feature composition is the third movement of Mother Goose Suite.Ravel loved the challenge of choosing just the right combination of instruments to make us see the characters in the story. He used high-pitched wind instruments for the insects. Ravel selected the lower pitched horns and bass clarinet for the Empress. He even added the majestic sound of the gong so no one would fail to notice the Empress going by.
