A
Pathways Student is a life long learner who is:

Self-directed (student-initiated projects student-completed planner/schedule,
exercise journal,
sports/”extra curricular calendar, completed assignment sheet, completed chore
chart, recording of practice
sessions, I–search paper…)
•Self-reflective (student
self-evaluations, journal entries especially from performances, student-completed
rubric, student input on grades, reflection on performance, goal-setting tasks, written explanation
of errors assignments…)
•A cooperative learner (photos from work
party, photos from classes/small group work, projects or
posters from group activities, multi-member family projects, images or from group activities PCS
& non-PCS, products from community service projects, peer tutoring.…)
•An able researcher (research notes for
project, history/science samples that Demonstrate collecting background
info, bibliographies, annotated bibliographies, notes citing sources, sample of
internet research projects…)
•A critical thinker (any essay, project, lab, assignment
etc. that demonstrates use of higher order thinking
skills…)
•A capable mathematician (any math, sewing, cooking, business,
economics, currency or product
that demonstrates applied math ie: currency conversion product, measurements for
building project, use of pattern in sewing or knitting, budgeting assignment…)
•A world citizen (use of internet for global
communications, global studies, current events, pen pal letters,
travel preparations & photos, language studies, global economics studies, community service
projects, examples of activism for world issues….)
•Technologically literate (samples of word
processing, use of computer programs for accounting/graphics/list making etc. use of
CD-rom & DVD tech in research, internet communications, blogs, use of graphing
calculators, computerized &/or online curricula, etc…)
•A creative individual (samples of art, music,
dance, photo, graphic design, crafts projects, exceptional problem solving, pretty
projects, any unique perspective/approach to “traditional” subject…)
•An effective communicator in speech and in writing (samples of written work, speeches, oral presentation,
correspondence…)
