Parent Workshops


STAR Testing Workshop for Families
  •  Do you know how to help your child prepare for the STAR Writing Exam?

If not, come to one of the PARENT WORKSHOPS and find out how you can help your child!

We are offering Parent Workshops that cover all you need to know to help your 4th and 7th grade students prepare for the STAR Writing Exam in March.  

In the past, these workshops were presented to the students, this year we are sharing the information directly with the parents.  This allows you to actively guide your child in their writing activities with an eye to State expectations, thus easing anxieties students and parents often feel around this test.    

You will be provided with handouts that include writing expectations, criteria for scoring, sample prompts, student samples, and where to find information on the web.
