How to use the library:
Who Can Check out a Book?
Parents, students and staff may access, search and request books at www.pathwayslibrary.org. Currently no books will be mailed to students, families, or teachers. All materials must be picked up at the library during a library day or at a specified center. If you specify a center where you would like to pick up your materials please keep in mind we have to transport the materials there so there may be a short delay in receiving those materials.
Parents may check out books under their student’s ID number.
What is My Patron ID?
Student patron ID numbers are the same as the Pathways student number. Your student number can be provided by your Teacher or by calling the office. This number is confidential and may not be shared with anyone.
What is in the Library?
Throughout the year, the library receives a wide variety of curricula from families who are finished with school materials. These materials are then made available for check out in the library. Many of the items are barcoded and can be requested by visiting www.pathwayslibrary.org. The library has materials from the general categories of language arts, math, history, science, art, music, foreign language, fictional books, easy readers, parent helps, test prep, computer science, critical thinking, educational games, videos, educational computer games, and complete curricula such as Oak Meadow.
When is the Library Open?
Library days are the first and third Wednesday of every month (except the third Wed. of Dec.) from 1-3 p.m. Directions are available on the school website, from your teacher, or by calling the library at 707-748-5741.
How to Request a Book Using the Library Website
Patrons do not check out books in the typical sense. What they do is make a “patron request.” When you have searched for a book and found one that you want, look for the “Patron Request” button on the lower right on of the library screen.
When
you select this button, you will be prompted to enter your patron
ID, the students name (last name only is fine), email address and any
other notes to the librarian. The book you selected will automatically
be included in the request to the library. When the library gets this
request, they will process a “check-out”. Students are expected to pick
up their materials at the library during a library day, or at a
specified center.
We are thrilled to have the library available to students. We do ask that you plan ahead when requesting materials so that multiple book requests can be delivered in the same package to the centers. The more we can all work together to getting the materials delivered the easier it will be for everyone.
How Will I Return Books to the Library?
Students and families return books directly to the library or to Teachers, who turn them in at monthly staff meetings. The exception is when a book has been requested by the library or if books are overdue. In these cases, arrangements will be made between the student, teacher and library for a more timely return.
What Happens if I Lose or Damage a Book?
Accidents do happen! When a book is lost or damaged, parents will be expected to refund the cost of the book to the school. Please contact the library directly to determine the replacement cost of materials.
What Happens When I Leave the School, but Have Books Checked Out?
Students who have withdrawn or graduated will be removed from the system only after they have cleared their library accounts.
Students/families who do not clear their library accounts within two weeks of leaving the school, will be sent a letter, reminding them of their library account status. Materials which are not returned will be assessed a fee based on the replacement costs of the materials and student files may not be forwarded until the fee is paid, or the materials are returned.
Graduating students with library fines will not be issued a diploma until all accounts are cleared.
How Can I Find Out What Books I Have Checked Out?
By clicking on this button, you can enter your student number and name to see the current status of your library account.
